Abacus Level 1
Course Description
“Level 1 Abacus Course introduces learners to the abacus as a powerful mental mathematics tool. Starting from the very foundation—understanding its structure and bead values—students explore basic arithmetic operations using "small friend" and "big friend" techniques for addition and subtraction. Gradually, they transition from physical manipulation to mental visualization, leveraging complement strategies like +5, –5, and +10 for faster calculations. Alongside, the course emphasizes concentration, speed, and accuracy, with interactive drills and timed exercises. By the end, learners can confidently perform one- and two-digit calculations both with and without the abacus.”
